Week #40-Come on baby!!!

Week #40
Baby is Size of: Jackfruit

Fun Fact: She's continuing to grow hair and nails

Weight this week:174.8
Change since last week -2 lbs
Weight gain overall: 27.8 lbs

Symptoms: continued stiffness in thighs and hips, some acid reflux, difficulty breathing at times, sleeping is getting more uncomfortable, however, thank goodness I'm still sleeping pretty good, getting full faster, still lots of movement from baby, however, not as many kicks-more movement, Walking is like a workout now-not as easy as it used to be, oh and restless legs when I'm trying to get to sleep at night-Every. Single. Night. so annoying! Oh, and Dan says I snore really bad! It must have something to do with me not being able to breathe!

Cravings: I've been partial to apple juice/cider lately

40 Week Appointment-Dr Raul. -8:45-Friday, November 22-My due date!!!
We did the usual, blood pressure/weight/belly measuring. Blood pressure slightly higher, well for me at least, they weren't concerned-128/82. However, I was nervous and I couldn't breathe well when I came in since it's hard to eat and drink a lot! She checked for any dilation progress-still only a fingertip. UGH! She said that there isn't much that can be done at this point and everything is really myths and she will come when she's ready. She did say that she will not let me go over 41 weeks 6 days, so, the longest they will let me go before induction is December 5. I now go twice a week for Non-Stress tests. Basically, they hook me up to a monitor to monitor's baby movement and heartbeat for 40 minutes to make sure she's okay. I go back on Tuesday, November 26 at 2:30 pm. I had a breakdown when the doctor left. I'm just so frustrated. I would hope SOMETHING would be happening! I have to respect that she will come when she's ready. I just hope it's within the next week or so!

Baby thoughts- Honestly, the majority of the things we have to do is done. We still have the car seat to put in, I just have to pack clothes in my hospital bag. I need to look for some decor for the baby's room. I did find a few pictures that I need to get frames for. I also want to get a few white shelves, a rug and a window valence, that should be good. We want to get a book shelf but we are waiting on that for a bit. I feel good about everything. The house is clean, I have some grocery shopping to do, but overall, we are ready for her!!

This blog is called 40 weeks of pregnancy! Why is she not here yet??!!

39 weeks-Lots of Nursery progress!

Week #39
Baby is Size of: Watermelon!

Fun Fact: Her nails may extend past his fingertips.

Weight this week:176.8-Work had a baby shower for me yesterday, I splurged a little!-for what it's worth, I was 174.8 2 days ago when I happened to step on the scale. My new paranoia is going into labor on a really full stomach, I feel like that would be so uncomfortable! So, I am going to watch it this next week.
Change since last week +2.4
Weight gain overall: 29.8

Symptoms: continued stiffness in thighs and hips, some acid reflux, difficulty breathing at times, get full faster-not as hungry, still lots of movement from baby, however, not as many kicks-more movement, I'm almost to the point of "done being pregnant, but not quite there, oh and restless legs when I'm trying to get to sleep at night-Every. Single. Night. so annoying! Lots of branxton hicks contractions this past week. I also almost have an outie belly button! BUT-no stretch marks still :)

Cravings: None.

Hematologist appt, Dr. Pierce-Wednesday, November 13-3:45
I was nervous again about this one. This was the quickest appointment yet. We got in, they took my blood work and had the results quickly. It was at 101! So, I don't have to go back and I should be good to go for delivery :). She wants me to follow up with her a few months after the baby is born. I really liked her, she gave me a big hug and wished me luck.

39 Week Appointment-Dr Raul, Friday, November 15 2:15
We did the usual, blood pressure/weight/belly measuring. It was my first appointment with the new Dr. in the practice, Dr. Raul. She was nice, but I have to say, I am just partial to Dr. Hayes and Dr. Jaglan. They are both males and both my favorite! So, cervix hasn't moved at all, still only a fingertip dilated. She offered to sweep my membranes and stretch out my cervix  which may encourage labor. She said she was 4/4 in the last week with people going into labor after she did it, I said "maybe next week." I'm not sure how I feel about it. I'm only 39 weeks, not full term. I may consider it next week, we'll see. It was probably my fastest appointment. I see the same doctor next week, Jaglan and Hayes were all booked. If I go past 40 weeks, I start going two times a week. They said they would not let me go past 42 weeks. Man I hope she comes before then and stays a November baby!

Baby thoughts- Man did we get a lot done this week! Lots of cleaning and lots of baby prep. See pictures below. All that is really left is to decorate and get a lot of cleaning done and other odds and ends. It feels good to not feel as overwhelmed as I did the last two weeks. We have been working hard to get a lot done! I am anxious to get decor in the room to finish it off.

Dan put together the chair, I wanted it by the window so I could look out as I was rocking/feeding her
We still need to get the mattress

I'm glad we have a big closet! I didn't realize how much clothes she had

                               36 Weeks                                                                                39 Weeks

Due date in 1 week???!!! EEEkK! Let's hope she is here around that time :)

Week #38-38 week appt/Baby pool

Week #38
Baby is Size of: Pumpkin

Fun Fact: She may have about an inch or so of hair :)

Weight this week:174.2
Change since last week:+1.2
Weight gain overall: 27.2 lbs-I think I'm right on track to gain 30 pounds.

Symptoms: continued stiffness in thighs and hips-it's getting worse!, some acid reflux, difficulty breathing at times, get full faster-not as hungry, still lots of movement from baby, however, not as many kicks-more movement, I"m almost to the point of "done being pregnant, but not quite there, oh and restless legs when I'm trying to get to sleep at night-Every. Single. Night. So annoying!

Cravings: None.

38 Week Appointment-Dr. Jaglan-12:00-Friday, November 8
We did the usual, blood pressure/weight/belly measuring. My belly is measuring perfect with the week I'm on-38 inches. So, for people who have said I'm "too big or too small," I am right on track! Blood pressure still good as 103/56. I'm nervous about that going up, but since it hasn't been high but more low this whole pregnancy, very unlikely that will change. He also checked me to see if I was dilated at all. He said I may be thinning a little and still soft but no dilation. I have a gut feeling this little girl is going to take her sweet time! We'll see! My next OB appointment is next Friday, November 15 at 2:15pm. It's with a new female doctor in the practice. Let's hope SOMETHING is happening! I also have a hematologist appointment Wednesday, November 13 to retest platelets, fingers crossed I'm still good.

Baby Pool!
Dan started a baby pool! We have 22 people in it for $3.00 each so $66.00 is at stake! G'pa Kater has me going as early as November 15 and Nick Denny has me going as late at November 30, We'll see! It's neat, you guess the date/length/eye color/hair color and it computes it. Whoever has the least amount of points, wins the pool!

Baby thoughts- I have a three day weekend. Goal is to pretty much finish the nursery and put everything a way. Also, I want to order everything we need yet.  Then we'll just have the decor in the nursery to worry about. We have a lot of odds and ends too to finish up. We plan on getting a lot done. Let the nesting begin! I only wish we would have done a lot of this stuff 2 months ago! My energy isn't what it used to be :). Pictures will be posted next week of what's accomplished this next week!

I cannot believe she'll be here so soon! Lots to do this week! On to Week #39 :)

Week #37-Baby Shower!/More appointments

Week #37
Baby is Size of: Winter Melon

Fun Fact: She's practicing some skills: inhaling, exhaling, sucking, gripping and blinking

Weight this week:173.0
Change since last week:+1.6
Weight gain overall: 26 lbs

Symptoms: continued stiffness in thighs and hips-it's getting worse!, some acid reflux, difficulty breathing at times, still lots of movement from baby, however, not as many kicks-more movement, I honestly feel pretty good, it's just getting harder to move around, oh and restless legs when I'm trying to get to sleep at night-so annoying!

Cravings: Still really none!

Hematologist Appointment-Dr. Pierce-4:00-Thursday-October 31.
I was nervous again for this one again! This was to check my platelet levels. They drew my blood and we waited. It was at 93! Which is still good. She wants to see me back in about 2 weeks since she's confident it will remain stable I go back on 11/13 to retest. It makes me feel better that it's more stabilized. It seems to be bouncing between 85-105 the past 4 weeks and I hope it continues to do so and not drop anymore.

37 Week Appointment-Dr. Jaglan-2:45-Friday, November 1
We did the usual, blood pressure/weight/belly measuring. Nothing unusual. He basically said baby could come at anytime. He did an internal check and no progress since last week. He said my cervix might be "slightly dilated" but really nothing. I'm starting to get this gut feeling that she may come later than earlier! We'll see. Every time he sees me now, "we'll see you every week unless we have a birthday! We see Dr. Jaglan again next Friday.

Baby Shower
Mom, Beck and Amanda really put a lot of thought into the shower! Jenny helped as well but was not able to make it. The food was delicious. My favorite ham and cheese sandwiches were served as well as sloppy joes, A baby carriage was formed out of a watermelon with fruit in it, there was a good salad made by Aunt Donna, noodle salad. All were very good! The desert table had different cookies and bars and there was a centerpiece of newborn diapers as the diaper "cake". There was also a table that said, "ready to pop" which had caramel corn, tootsie pops, cake pops and "momosas" and mimosas with fruit garnish.

We played four different games. One game was taking a ribbon and guessing how big I was. Whoever's gift was opened, I would then get the ribbon to see who's fit best. Grandma won that game. We also played Celebrity game in which you had to match up the celebrities with the names of their Children-Nicole Tubeseski won that game. There was also a alphabet book made for baby which there was pages from A-Z and everyone drew pictures on the page of an object starting with that name. Lastly, Dan and I filled out a questionnaire last week and they were used for the last game. People had to guess who said it. Amanda would ask the question and they would hold up a blue heart if they thought Dan said it and a Pink heart if they thought I said it.

People were very generous with their gifts and we are very blessed. She received MANY outfits and the majority of the things that she needed. Guests were asked to provide a book instead of a card if they wanted so we literally got about 50 books. It's nice to have such a collection of books to read to her.

Baby thoughts- Nesting mode has started!! Starting on Friday, November 1, I made a list of what we have to do each day and our "to do list" ending on November 10th, Sunday. So, we have a lot to do in the next 10 days. I really want everything done and organized so I can just relax and wait for her to come. Our list is pretty extensive and we have a lot to do, but I know we can get it done :)

I cannot believe she'll be here so soon! Lots to do this week! On to Week #38 :)

Week #36-More appointments and Labor and Delivery Class part 2!

Week #36
Baby is Size of: Honeydew

Fun Fact: She's getting closer and closer to being able to breathe on her own.

Weight this week:171.4
Change since last week:+1.4
Weight gain overall: 24.4 pounds

Symptoms: continued stiffness in thighs and hips-getting worse!, some acid reflux, difficulty breathing at times, still lots of movement from baby, however, not as many kicks-more movement, I honestly feel pretty good, it's just getting harder to move around, restless legs when I'm trying to get to sleep at night-so annoying!

Cravings: Still really none!

                                                                  33 Weeks
                                                                   36 weeks!

Hematologist Appointment-Dr. Pierce-11:30, Thurs Oct 24.
I was nervous for this one! This was to check my platelet levels. The drew my blood and we waited. It was at 95! Which is still good. She wants to see me back every 7-10 days to continue to retest until birth. It makes me feel better that it's more stabilized. It seems to be bouncing between 85-105 the past 4 weeks and I hope it continues to do so and not drop anymore.

36 Week Appointment-Dr. Hayes-12:45-Thurs Oct 24
We did the usual, blood pressure/weight/belly measuring. Then they had to swab for strep B which I thought would be painful, but it wasn't. He then did a cervical check, I'm still "soft" but no dilation or effacement yet, so that's good. Our next two appointments are with Dr. Jaglan, our other favorite doctor. I wish I knew when they were on call, they are my two favorites!

Labor and Delivery Class
It really has been so helpful. This class has taught us all the different ways to give labor, what medications can be used and the side effects, breathing techniques and the hospital tour. It was very helpful and I feel much more prepared. I am however, more nervous about giving birth, but any way it goes, she's coming out somehow!

Baby thoughts
We have the crib and dresser together and the wall color picked out! We finally found the right greens. It's all slowly coming together. We still need to order a bookshelf or play type shelves to put baskets in and a rocker. There's still a lot to do: get the hospital bag together, wash diapers, buy whatever we don't get from our shower. So, we're getting there slowly but surely! I know I said November 1 to have this done, but it may be more like November 7. I'm hoping she comes early, but not too early!

The second green will be used, it's more of a pastel
Crib bought off Amazon, Dan put it together in about an hour and a half
Matching dresser, pain in the butt to put together, took Dan 4 hours, but it is perfect!

Next week: Shower this weekend :)..then 37 weeks! Eeeek!!

Week #35-35 Week appointment/Labor and Delivery Class

Week #35
Baby is Size of: Coconut

Fun Fact: Now her hearing is fully developed, and she responds best to high-pitched noises.

Weight this week:170.0-got back on track with eating healthier this week
Change since last week:-1.2 pounds
Weight gain overall: 23 pounds

Symptoms: continued stiffness in thighs and hips, some acid reflux, difficulty breathing at times, still lots of movement from baby, however, not as many kicks-more movement, I honestly feel pretty good, it's just getting harder to move around, oh and my stupid hernia I have had in my stomach area for the last seven years hurts at the end of the day now, pain goes a way when I sleep and comes back near the end of the day, probably due to all the pressure baby's putting on it, oh and restless legs when I'm trying to get to sleep at night-so annoying!

Cravings:Nothing at this time.

35 Week Appointment-Dr. Hayes-10/17-2:45
As of recent, this has been my most uneventful appointment to date-thank goodness!! Weight, Blood pressure-103/62 :)-back to "normal low", baby heartbeat and belly measuring. My belly is actually measuring 36 weeks so she's really on a growth spirt! Next week, he explained that I would need to be swabbed for Step B. It's basically a vaginal swab to make sure I don't have it and if I do, all it is is IV antibiotics during labor. From what I understand, it is bacteria that lives in the vaginal area but too much can cause problems during delivery. I really like Dr. Hayes, I still think he is my favorite so far!

Next week Thursday-October 24, I have an appointment with the Hematologist to retest platelets and another appointment with Dr. Hayes. It makes me feel good that Dr. Hayes said Dr. Pierce, the hematologist, is one of the best he knows and he's very confident in her decisions.

Labor and Delivery Class
We had our first class on Thursday, October 17. It lasted three hours and we also have another class next Thursday for three hours. It was very informative and I'm glad we decided to take it. It showed a few videos on birth and the role of the partner/coach. It also showed the progression of labor and a natural birth. I'm not sure if it made me more nervous or excited for birth. Natural birth looks like a lot of work, but I really want to see if I can do it. At the end of class, we practiced different positions that would help during contractions. It was very helpful. Overall, I think the class will be good and I am glad we waited a while to take it so it all will be soaked up in my brain more! Dan will be a good coach.

Baby thoughts-We have decided on a nursery color/theme. It will be a green, just a matter of how green. It's going to be green walls and the room will be accented with pinks and some brown. I didn't want it to be too girly and don't want a lot of pink. I also washed all of her clothes last week and ordered the crib and dresser, which will be here this weekend. It is coming a long! My goal is November 1 to have it all done. I will be 37 weeks, that gives us about 2 weeks to complete the nursery. I will also have my shower by then so that will be nice to know what we still need.
I want to have green walls with accents of pink and brown
                                                                I love this!!

I still have been pretty stressed lately. I had off on Thursday so on Wednesday I came home and Dan said he was making dinner. I did some much needed grocery shopping while he cooked and I came home to Steak (on the grill), baked potato, a sweet roll and a nice salad with dimmed lights, soft music and the fireplace going. It was so nice and thoughtful. We then went to Mayfair to see Gravity, which was an excellent movie. I'm going to miss nights where it's just the two of us! I don't know if I stress how wonderful Dan has been, from doing laundry, to making sure I'm not doing to much, cleaning the kitchen, keeping everything tidy and keeping low stress. He's been very supportive and I feel very blessed.

Beck and Steve returned from their Caribbean Cruise Honeymoon and brought us this home:
                                                          Too Cute!

Five more weeks!!!

Week #34-Maternity pictures/Hematologist appointment

Week #34
Baby is Size of: Butternut Squash

Fun Fact: Regardless of the eye color baby will end up with, right now her eyes are blue. The pigmentation process in his iris won't be complete until her eyes have been exposed to light for several weeks after birth. Her final eye color may not be evident for years. We're hoping it stays blue!

Weight this week:171.4
Change since last week: +3.2-Yeah, I ate my feelings this week...stress! I find I'm gaining weight a little too easily now, so I need to calm it down! Also-still no stretch marks...I'm trying to keep it in check if I can!
Weight gain overall: 24.4-goal is no more than 30. I'm not worried, I think I'll start maintaining more than anything as I plan to eat a pretty healthy diet here on out due to the platelet issue (see below).

Symptoms: continued stiffness, some acid reflux, difficulty breathing at times, still lots of movement from baby, however, not as many kicks-more movement, I honestly feel pretty good, it's just getting harder to move around, oh and my stupid hernia I have in my stomach area hurts at the end of the day now, pain goes a way when I sleep and comes back near the end of the day, probably due to tall the pressure baby's putting on it.

Cravings:None this week really, still on a bagel kick

Maternity Pictures
We had our maternity picture shoot on Tuesday, October 8. My good friend Stephanie Olson did them. They were done in Whitnall Park. It was a beautiful evening. The trees were a perfect color and the sun was out and shining. We went to a few different spots in the park to get them done. Steph posted 4 teasers on Facebook. It was fun and I'm glad we were able to capture this pregnancy in beautiful pictures!

Referral to Hematologist
Earlier in this pregnancy, they said my platelets were low, which isn't uncommon in pregnancy, but they wanted to keep an eye on it. Well, I noticed it slowly dropping and at 20 weeks, it was 121 (it's supposed to be between 150-400). I asked last Friday to get it re-tested. I got my test results back on Tuesday morning and it's at 87. Ugh. So, the nurse called me and told me a referral was put in to see a Hematologist as I am still over 6 weeks a way from delivery. I made an appointment for Tuesday, October 15 at 8 am. I wanted to get earlier so I called to see if they had any cancellations. They were able to get me in on Thursday, October 10.

It was a wonderful appointment. Dr. Brenda Pierce was very nice and very information. Basically, worse case scenario, they would have to induce me early if my platelets continued to drop.  They took about 7 viles of blood. She said they are basically testing me for anything and everything possible that could cause low platelets but she is convinced it is all related to pregnancy as my platelets were fine 2 years ago when she saw my blood work. She said if we stayed 15 minutes, she would have at least the platelet results. We waited and she said it was at 103!! I was super happy. She wants to see me back in two weeks to retest. It makes me feel better that it didn't continue to drop. I was really nervous about that. So, I'm feeling a bit better about things. It may or may not matter, but I plan to change my diet to very healthy from here on out to see if that helps: more iron (meat), greens and organic foods.

Baby Thoughts: I am overwhelmed-I think I've said that a lot the past few weeks! We have a to do list and it's so long, I don't know where to start. I think I will feel better once we have the nursery painted, crib and dresser in and clothes washed and shower over with so we know what we have to buy yet. I think with just worrying about health issues with myself, it has my mind too occupied, but I really need to focus on getting more things done. Our goal is November 1 to have the majority of things done. We're even thinking of putting the Christmas tree up early so we don't have to worry about it after baby is here.

So, I have been getting samples in the mail...literally almost everyday. Debbie Appel also has given me a few as well.  If breastfeeding doesn't work or if I can't do it for too long, I know what I can fall back on! Geez!

On to week 35! Baby is considered full-term in 3 weeks!!!

Week #33-Wedding/33 Week appt

Week #33
Baby is size of: Durian!-I don't know what the heck this is!..Oop, just googled: an oval spiny tropical fruit containing a creamy pulp. Despite its fetid smell, it is highly esteemed for its flavor.

Fun Fact: Baby girl is keeping her eyes open while she is a wake

Weight this week: 168.2
Change since last week-+ 1.8-I swear my belly is growing by the day!
Weight gain overall: 21.2

Symptoms: Braxton hick contractions-more and more, some nights I wake up for an hour and go back to sleep-however, I am still sleeping well overall, shortness of breath, very stiff if sitting too long in legs and hips, achiness in back, no longer spotting brown blood-thank goodness!, more clumsy-I feel like I drop everything!

Cravings: Bagels! I like half a bagel every morning now :). Dan and I picked up the baker's dozen from Panera last week and froze them. I also have my egg every morning!

Wedding!
Beck and Steve's wedding was this last weekend, September 28th. It was just beautiful! The rehearsal was at Champs and the food was very good. I had a Turkey wrap, Dan had a burger. Beck gave the bridesmaids different wine glasses with different phrases on them. Mine said "Mommy's Juice"-I'm very excited to use it! She also gave us our jewelry we would wear the day of. Dan was given a German beer mug with two German beers and a Best Buy Gift card. It was a nice time and we were able to talk to some of Steve's friends while we were there and get to know them better.

Saturday was just beautiful! The weather was perfect, about 80 degrees, partly sunny. We started off at the hair salon. My hair is at such an awkward stage and I ended up not liking it at all. I really should have done it myself! Oh well. We got ready at the church. The nylons I was supposed to wear and looked all over for didn't fit right, so I ended up not wearing any at all. The ceremony was beautiful! Pastor Earnest did it. He also married Dan and I. He's just so great at speaking and doing ceremonies. Baby was moving the entire time! It was cute. I was a little uncomfortable standing there, but no biggie.

We took pictures at Botanical gardens and stopped at Beck and Steve's house where they took pictures. The photographer was wonderful and got some beautiful shots!

The reception was just beautiful! I never had a chance to see it before the wedding, just pictures online but with all of the up lighting and table decor, and chair covers and flowers, everything turned out so nice. They had nice appetizers for cocktail hour. The wedding party's grand march went in to the "price is right" theme song which was fun. Amanda, Dan and I all had beautiful speeches. Dad also got up and spoke and I was so proud of him! He didn't even have it written down! The dinner was delicious: salad, rolls, beef, chicken, vegetables, potato and a noodle salad. The cake was also very good. The DJ was awesome all night. I can't say enough about it. It was just a nice evening! It's always nice to see family and friends that you don't see too often. It was lightly raining at the end of the night and this is my favorite shot that the photographer previewed:

33 Week Appointment, Friday 4:15pm
It feels like I was just at the doctor! It has only been two weeks. We were able to meet Dr. Jaglan, I think he's our favorite next to Dr. Hayes. It's funny, I like both of the male doctors the best.  The appointment went well. My blood pressure was the lowest it's been all pregnancy 86/52. I don't feel any different so he wasn't concerned.  I did ask for a full CBC again to test my platelets so I had blood work done before we left.  Baby's heartbeat was between 138 and 144 when he was listening to her and he said it was strong. He also said she's in a very good birth position right now. Overall, it was a good appointment, I'm just hopeful that my platelets haven't dropped anymore. He said as long as it stays above 100, it's okay. I was at 121 at 20 weeks.  If it drops below that, there can be issues with clotting if I needed a Cesarean delivery. We'll see! What's crazy to me is he said at this point, if I were go into labor, they wouldn't stop it since baby is grown enough to survive without too much time in the NICU. Crazy!!!!

I made my next 3 appointments with Dr. Hayes and Jaglan, fingers crossed they are one of the two that deliver me!

We have lots to do this month now that the wedding is over: getting nursery in order, washing diapers and clothes, installing car seat in car, organizing things. I better start nesting soon!

                                                                  Week 29

                                                                33 weeks!

On to week 34!

Week #32-Labor and Delivery trip

Week #32
Baby is size of: Squash!

Fun fact: Baby is in head down position by now getting ready for labor!

Weight this week:166.4
Change since last week:+1.2
Weight gain overall: 19.4 pounds

Symptoms: cramping/pelvic discomfort, pain in legs-mostly inner/outer thighs, mild acid reflux, getting full faster, lots of kicking and hiccuping-at least 3x a day, sleep is difficult some nights and some nights I sleep like a baby, headaches in the morning, light brown spotting.

Cravings: OMG-very much addicted (Dan and I both) to Pumpkin Pie Bagels from Panera with New York Style Cheesecake cream cheese! YUM. We bought a bunch and froze them.

Exercise-I'm not even going to comment on this anymore. I will put it in when I do exercise. Walking is out of the question and I really should do more yoga. I need to relax more!

Tuesday, 9/25/13-Labor and Delivery trip.

So, it's been a stressful past week. Getting ready for Beck and Steve's wedding, stressing about baby and Dan and I having some disagreements on things. It could be stress related, it could not be, who knows.

Anyways, I woke up Tuesday morning to brown blood and mild cramping. It freaked me out, so I called the doctor's office, which wasn't open yet and the call center picked up. They were very helpful. They called the on-call OB and called me back. They suggested I drink a lot of water and stated it is normal to have some brown spotting.  I was able to schedule an appointment at 1pm to see the doctor to make sure everything was okay. They said the doctor isn't concerned about the brown blood and it was up to me if I wanted to go into the office to get checked for peace of mind. I was drinking water and laying on my left side. I still felt her kicking around all morning, so I know she was fine. I was about to get up and make coffee when I went to the bathroom and the brown blood had turned to red-a lot of it. So, I again freaked out and Dan and I drove to labor and delivery.

I pictured labor and delivery floor to be much more hectic, but it was very quiet and calm. They immediately got me in a triage room. I went to the bathroom and the bleeding had stopped and turned back to brown. They had me hooked up to a monitor to watch both the contractions and baby's heart rate. They saw I was having mild contractions and brought me a lot of water to drink. Within about 45 minutes of drinking the water, the contractions slowed down. I was fine until they did a cervical check and pelvic exam. HOLY painful! They said everything was closed up, but my cervix was somewhat softened but I was not dilated They did see a lot of brown blood and cleaned it out, no more red blood. They suspect it may be an SCH that I had from first trimester that may have resurfaced. The OB didn't seem at all worried, so that made me feel better.

We stayed there for another 2 hours just to be monitored. She was a wiggle worm the entire time. We were able to eat there. From the time we arrived to labor and deliver to the time we left was about four hours. Everyone there was very nice. The only thing they suggested, was that I go on pelvic rest again-which I'm now used to!

So, that was our excitement for this week. The goal at this point is to keep stress down and not be too active-that's my suggestion to myself and Dan's as well.

This coming weekend is exciting! Beck and Steve's wedding. I say this so often but I cannot believe how fast this year has gone! The rehearsal dinner is at Champs in Brookfield and the fun begins! I was able to get my speech written and perfect it so that is crossed off the list.

I have my appointment next Friday with Dr. Jaglan so hopefully he can give me more insight as to what is going on. I am praying there is no more red bleeding!

Week #31-On to Bi-weekly Appointments!

Week #31
Baby is size of: Pineapple!

Fun Fact: All five senses are now developed and working :)

Weight this week:165.2-I expect to start gaining weight more rapidly since she's gaining about a half a pound a week now. I'm still watching my diet pretty well- I still splurge a lot on weekends but during the week I eat really well.
Change since last week: +1
Weight gain overall: 18.2 pounds (starting weight 147)

Symptoms: stiffness in back of legs/thighs/hips, acid reflux-though not too bad, restless leg before bed a few nights a week, Occasional constipation-not all that bad, LOTS of kicks! I have her routine down pat now-She's been hiccuping more the past week-I read that's a good sign her central nervous system is developing well. She gets them almost daily, sometimes twice a day!, pelvic pressure-she's really low or really long!

Cravings-Peanut butter craving is over with. Dan and I are really into Panara's pumpkin pie bagels with New York Cheesecake cream cheese. I've had a half a bagel three times this past week! I do continue with my organic egg everyday. Baby needs those Omega-3's for her brain!

Exercise?-None, I really need to be doing yoga. I repeat this to myself every week lol. Walking causes too much BH contractions and cramping, so it's not worth it. So, all I can really do is yoga. I'd like to start trying it twice a week if I can just get the energy and get into a routine! I think it would help during labor.

31 week appointment-Thursday, 9/19/13-2:45pm
We had our appointment with Dr. Hayes again-my favorite! I am thankful for being done with ultrasounds and blood work for now, although I doubt I'll get anymore ultrasounds, which I'm fine with. I came with some questions such as the TDAP (Tetanis, Diptheria and Pertesis) and flu vaccine which he was going to ask me about anyway when I came there. I ended up getting both. Dan will also be getting them in the next month or so. It's nice because by me getting it while I'm pregnant, it starts building up the baby's immunity since she can't have the shot till she's four months I believe. I also asked about my partial septate uterus and chances of delivering early, he says that chances are higher, but I could still go to term.  Dr. Hayes was very open to all of my questions and happy that I had so many to ask. He is very funny too and has a nice personality and makes you very comfortable and at ease.  My belly is measuring perfectly and baby's heart rate is in mid 140's which is right in the middle of normal. Blood pressure continues to be low at 102/60-thank goodness that hasn't become a problem!

For the next month, I have appointments every two weeks! 10/4 with Dr. Jaglan-who I heard is also excellent and 10/17 again with Dr. Hayes, then I go weekly! I am still amazed at how fast time has gone.

Baby Thoughts-We've been looking for a pediatrician. I had a few recommendations from friends, but Dr. Hayes recommended someone in Oak Creek that he knows and all of his patients have thanked him for referring them to him. His name is Dr. Tetting and we will be looking into him. We need to finalize this soon!

We got a stroller and car seat :). Grandma Meddaugh was kind enough to send us money for our baby gift to go toward the stroller. This is the one we purchased:

The infant seat goes up to 30 pounds, so it should last a while and I looked at many reviews on the stroller and most reviews had at least 4 starts. It is gender neutral so if next baby is a boy, we can reuse it. It also didn't hurt that it was 30% and we got Kohl's cash with it-gotta love Kohl's! We plan on getting most of our big items, ie: pack n play, swings etc. gender neutral, so mostly greens, browns, even some blues.

So, I always list my symptoms of pregnancy, which are mostly negative, here are some positive things I've noticed about being pregnant:
-No periods
-Not having to worry about weight gain
-My thick hair-I swear I only lose like 2 strands a week! I'm scared for when she's here and I lose it all!
-I like the attention sometimes and people asking about baby
-Realizing how amazing the human body is-it blows my mind!
-It sounds funny but having sex and not worry about getting pregnant

Next week!- We have our first Labor and delivery class on Monday 6-9 and getting ready for Beck and Steve's wedding!!! Yeah!! On to week 32!

Week #30-10 weeks left!!

Week #30
Baby is size of: Cucumber!

Fun Fact: Baby's grip is strong enough now to grasp a finger!

Weight this week: 164.2
Change from last week:+1.6
Weight gain overall: 17.2

Symptoms-restless leg-only at night before bed, acid reflux, stiffness in thighs and back of legs, light cramping, braxton hicks contractions, I notice myself getting more tired quickly at night, baby kicking like crazy-I feel her kicks getting stronger, still sleeping okay but getting more uncomfortable. to sleep.

Cravings-Nothing really, still peanut butter, but trying not to eat so much of it!

Exercise-Yoga! I did yoga Tuesday  this week.

I feel like I don't have much to say this week! It's been rather uneventful-which isn't a bad thing! I feel like she is getting bigger by the day. My shirts even fit differently than they did last week. I think I may have to start wearing all Maternity clothes soon. So far, I have been wearing a pair of maternity pants and maternity shorts and have worn a few shirts, but mostly still wearing my own shirts.

I've been cramping more and having more braxton hicks. If I'm walking or on my feet too long, i get really uncomfortable. I've been doing a lot of drinking water and keeping my feet up! I can't imagine how I'll feel 10 weeks from now!

Week #31 next week!

Week #29-Last week in the 20's!

Week #29
Baby is size of: Acorn Squash-you tell me how the hell an eggplant (week 28) is smaller than an acorn squash?! I guess the density is heavier?

Fun Fact- baby is only about 4 inches shorter than the length she'll be born at-she just has to fatten up for the next 11 weeks!

Weight this week:162.6
Change from last week:-.2
Total gain so far: 15.6-I haven't been gaining since I've been really watching my diet due to all this acid reflux. I found if I eat a lot of sugar one day, I pay for it the next day. So, I've really been eating pretty healthy.

Symptoms-Acid reflux, bloating, hemorrhoids, ears plugging up, Restless leg at night, cramping in legs Stiff in legs, baby kicking like crazy! Braxton hicks contractions-not every day, but I definitely feel them. It sounds like I have a lot of symptoms, but they're not that bad. Thankfully I'm still sleeping pretty well-only get up about 1-2x a night just to switch sleeping positions-I really miss sleeping on my tummy!

Cravings-still stuck on Peanut butter!

Exercise-None-I really need to do pre-natal yoga starting next week.

Baby Thoughts  I think Dan has done more nesting than me! Our baby room is empty and ready to be painted-just need to pick a color, which I am leaning toward a peach, which it is right now!, new garage door, yard cleaned up (for now), little things that needed fixing around the house are fixed. I need to get on it! I think I will really get on it in November after my shower so I know what I'll have left to buy.

I also started kick counts this week. Basically, you pick a time of day where baby is most active and have to count 10 kicks in 2 hours so you know baby's trend and you could spot potential problems. This baby takes no longer than 5-9 minutes to get 10 kicks. She is an active one! I have to say, some days more active than others, but most days, I can spot her trend. Early morning, afternoon and evening and bedtime, she's raring to go! It's all so amazing to me and makes things so much more real! I'm trying to figure out which body part is what that is kicking/jabbing me. She was head down at last ultrasound and we want her to stay that way! At this point, she's getting into the birth position, if she switches, it will be hard to get her to flip and that would mean a C-section. It's not the end of the world, but I really want a natural birth.

                                                                          25 weeks
                                                                        29 weeks
Last weekend we celebrated our birthday's by going to Hanley's and Mom and Dad's house for cake. Its always nice hanging out with family and Mom and Dad are always so thoughtful. It was a nice time. It's kinda sad...Dan and I have really only take a few pictures together this year!

Bring on the 30's and Football season!! Go Pack!!

Week #28-Welcome to Third Trimester!

Week #28
Baby is size of: Eggplant!

Weight this week:162.8
Change since last week: -.8
Weight gain overall:15.8 pounds

Measurements-8/30:
Waist-36.5-I give up after this month measuring my waist-I have none!
Stomach: 43.5
Hips: 42.5

Symptoms: Stiff back, restless legs at night, light cramping/RLP, acid reflux- Zantec is my new best friend, Hemorrhoids-yay! Getting full fast-I think she's putting some good pressure on my digestive system. On a positive note- no new stretch marks-yet! I've been oiling up 2x a day and drinking tons of water-we'll see if my theory works!,

Cravings, Still on a peanut butter kick! Have to have my peanut butter sandwich or peanut butter on banana or graham crackers everyday.

Exercise-I failed this week-none. I found that if I walk I cramp a lot, so I've been trying to avoid walking for now. I need to focus on yoga. I do have to say though, I have been eating really well. The acid reflux is really causing me to watch my diet recently. It's too painful when it flairs up bad.

28 week appointment-Monday 12:15 blood draw, 12:30 Ultrasound, 1:30 Doc appt.
The dreaded glucose test. Basically, it tests for how your body processes sugar and if you are over 135, you are at higher risk for GD and then you do a three hour test-which no one wants to do.

Let me start by saying, the glucose drink was not bad. It tasted like sugary orange Gatorade. They gave me the drink at the last appointment and it has been sitting in our fridge for a month. It was 10oz and I had 5 minutes to drink it and get to the clinic within 45 minutes of drinking it so they could get an accurate blood draw. No problem.

Now, let me start out by saying Acid reflux has been rearing it's ugly head the past week and Sunday I didn't eat much due to feeling horrible whenever I drank even water. It was a rough day. I gave into Zantec and it was a life saver. I felt better the next day. Monday morning, the day of my appointment, I wanted to keep it low carb, so I ate 2 organic eggs, 2 slices nitrate free bacon and 2 natural turkey sausages and coffee with a little creamer. My appointment was at 12:15. I brought a long half a peanut butter sandwich and pretzels to eat after they drew my blood.

We arrived at the appointment and they started with drawing my blood. I thought this would make me pass out due to lack of carbs. I was fine, no problems there. I then went on to the ultrasound. Now, I found lying on my back makes me light headed, but you are elevated during the ultrasound. She started the ultrasound and I was fine the first few minutes, all of a sudden, I became very light headed. I sat up and started sweating, became dizzy, had shortness of breath. It was a horrible feeling! Three nurses came in to make sure I was okay. They gave me an ice pack to put on my head and I layed on my side and it started to pass. I think the combination of me on my back and the lack of food is what did it. The rest of the ultrasound was done on my side and felt much better. I am so glad this was my last ultrasound. They still couldn't see her hand, she likes putting them above her head. At this point, she's head down but she still has time to move. I hope she stays that way!

I met Dr. Lloyd for the first time in about 13 years. I went to her once before college. She is very nice, very Grandma type. She said baby looks good and is growing in the 67 percentile at this point. That made me feel good. She swabbed me for a yeast infection which I had been having problems with and it was negative. I was also glad about that since that can affect having a vaginal birth. So, overall, an okay day. My next appointment is Thursday, 9/19 at 2:45 with Dr. Hayes. I'll be almost 31 weeks! Dr. Hayes continues to be my favorite so far. I really hope he is on call when I deliver.

So good news is that I passed the glucose test with a 116 (it had to be lower than 135) :). Yeah for not having to redo it!

Baby Thoughts-So, I feel really unprepared at this point. Dan has cleared out the office and it is totally empty...it's crazy! However, the only thing we can really do at this point is paint-which I have no idea what I want to paint it. I want to wait till after my shower to see what I will have left to buy.

So, right now, I am making a lot of lists. I have read it's a great idea to make frozen meals prior to baby being born since I know I won't have much time/energy to cook-I barely have the energy now! So, I found an awesome site that has you cooking 20 meals or 40 if you double them in 4 hours. They are all crock pot meals so all you have to do is prepare the meat and cut up the veggies, stick them in a bag in the freezer and you're done! All you have to do is add veggies or pasta after it's cooked which is very simple. I want to avoid eating out and eating crappy after the baby is born so I thought this was a genius idea. If I like it, I'll continue to take a Saturday and just hammer out a bunch of meals.

Fun Fact-Starbursts get her moving! She is an active baby. On and off during the day, but more active in the morning and evening. But it never fails, every time I eat Starbursts, she moves instantly! It's funny! All Red Starbursts are great :) Cherry, Strawberry, Watermelon and Fruit Punch all in one bag? Genius.

I can't believe I am almost out of the 20's!!
